Farhan, Randeep, Fawad in running to play Sarabjit Singh in biopic

Sonakshi Sinha and Kangana Ranaut were being churned out for the role of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur and it finally went to former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The next actor to be chosen was to play Sarabjit himself. The latest we hear is that as many as four names are being thought upon as the perfect face to play the death row prisoner in Pakistan.
According to a report  in DNA, “Omung already has three-four names in mind and they are not newcomers. The movie will capture Dalbir’s battle but it is not entirely about that. It is also about the struggles Sarabjit faced while in Pakistan. He will be talking to few actors and finally decide on someone in a few days.”
The names are Farhan Akhtar, Randeep Hooda, Sonu Sood and Fawad Khan.

Why  director  three-four names in mind  are Farhan Akhtar, Randeep Hooda, Sonu Sood and Fawad Khan.
Farhan Akhatr,With a successfull biopic like ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ to his credit, Farhan Akhatr seems to be the perfect choice for the role. The talented actor can also be expected to bring the emotional nuances to the character.
Randeep Hooda, known for his restrained and mature acting, also can be a powerful contender for the role.
Sonu Sood, popular more for his chiseled body and good looks, has performances like that of ‘Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi’ and ‘Jodha Akbar’ .
Fawad Khan,has taken the nation by storm with his persona and acting in TV series ‘Humsafar’ and ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ and Bollywood debut in ‘Khoobsurat’ and hence, can be a good choice for the movie.



 Sarabjit Singh  Biography:
 
Sarabjit Singh (1963 or 1964 – 2 May 2013) Singh had been a spy for the Indian Research and Analysis Wing intelligence agency and had been working undercover in Pakistan.After a brief trial in the Lahore High Court, he was condemned and sentenced to death in 1991, but the sentence was repeatedly postponed by the Government of Pakistan.
While in prison in April 2013, he was attacked by fellow inmates and died six days later at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. A biographical film on him is being produced by Indian filmmaker Subhash Ghai.

Mumbai: National award-winning filmmaker Omung Kumar will direct a biopic  on Sarabjit Singh, the Indian prisoner who died in Pakistan.
Omung said "Yes,''I will be directing and co-producing Sarabjit film. Even though I have three scripts lined up, this will be my next film after 'Mary Kom',"
Sarabjit's story,  Sarabjit was convicted of terrorism and spying by the Pakistani court and sentenced to death in 1991. Dalbir however began a battle for his discharge. Thanks to her efforts and that of the Indian government.But he was attacked on April 26, 2013 in the Central Jail Lahore and on May 1, was declared brain dead. The following day, he was reported to have died at 12.45 am, and his body was flown back to India where a second autopsy revealed that his vital organs were missing and his skull was broken into two.
